DigitalOcean Promo Code & Discount Code

DigitalOcean's entry-level Basic Droplets start at $4/month (512 MiB RAM, 1 vCPU, 10 GB SSD, 500 GiB transfer), scaling up to $6/month (1 GiB RAM, 25 GB SSD, 1,000 GiB transfer), $12/month (2 GiB RAM, 50 GB SSD, 2,000 GiB transfer) and $18/month (2 GiB RAM, 2 vCPUs, 60 GB SSD, 3,000 GiB transfer). Billing is per-second (a 60-second minimum or $0.01, whichever is higher) with hourly rates from $0.00595, so a Droplet only costs for the time it actually runs. New accounts typically get an introductory credit toward the first couple of months of usage — check the signup flow for the current amount, since promotional credit offers change.

Unlike shared hosts, a Droplet is a raw server: there's no cPanel or bundled website dashboard included by default. You get root access and are expected to install and manage your own web server, database and security updates yourself — DigitalOcean does provide one-click app images (WordPress, LAMP, Docker, etc.) to speed up initial setup, but ongoing server administration is on you. This makes it a strong fit for developers comfortable with the command line and a poor fit for anyone wanting a beginner control panel out of the box.
