Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday, November 30, 2026. It always falls on the Monday after US Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, and Black Friday is Friday, November 27, so Cyber Monday lands three days later on November 30.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is an online shopping event held on the Monday after Black Friday. Where Black Friday grew out of in-store doorbusters, Cyber Monday has always been about shopping on the internet. Today it is one of the biggest online sales days of the year in the US, and the last big day of a holiday sale season that now starts in early November.

Why is it called Cyber Monday?

The term "Cyber Monday" was coined in 2005 by Shop.org, the online division of the National Retail Federation (NRF). The usual story is that retailers saw online sales jump on the Monday after Thanksgiving, as people went back to work, where internet connections were often faster than at home, and shopped from their desks.

How Cyber Monday works

Cyber Monday is not a holiday and no one sets official rules for it. Each retailer decides what to discount, by how much and for how long. A few patterns explain most of what you'll see:

• Online-first deals: most offers are only on a retailer's website or app.
• Black Friday carry-over: many stores keep their Black Friday prices running and relabel them as Cyber Monday deals; others launch fresh offers on Monday.

Is Cyber Monday always in November?

Not always. Because Thanksgiving falls between November 22 and November 28, Cyber Monday can fall anywhere from November 26 to December 2. It lands in December whenever Thanksgiving is on November 27 or 28, as happened in 2025 (December 1) and will happen again in 2030 (December 2). In 2026, Cyber Monday is November 30, so it stays in November.

Do Cyber Monday deals start early?

Yes, often. In recent years many retailers have released Cyber Monday prices over the weekend ("Cyber Weekend" or "early access" deals) or on Sunday evening. And if a store's Black Friday sale runs through Monday, its "Cyber Monday deal" may simply be the Friday price.

Are Cyber Monday deals available now? Before late November you'll mostly find early holiday or "Black Friday preview" offers rather than true Cyber Monday deals. Does Cyber Monday end on Monday?

The name says Monday, but the sales don't always stop there. It depends on the store:

• Some deals end at midnight on Monday, usually in the retailer's local time or US Eastern or Pacific Time. Check the time zone on the offer.
• Many deals run for 24–48 hours and end on Tuesday.
• Plenty of sales continue through Cyber Week, which typically runs from Monday until the following weekend.

Do Cyber Monday deals last all week?

Some do, many don't. In recent years plenty of software, hosting and subscription brands have kept offers running until around the first weekend of December, while others end on Monday night. Never assume a deal will still be there on Tuesday.

Will Cyber Monday deals be extended?

Sometimes. Some retailers have announced "extended" Cyber Monday sales on Tuesday morning, but extensions are never guaranteed and the prices aren't always the same. If a deal is good and you need the item, buy on the day.

Is Cyber Monday only online?

Mostly, yes. Most offers are labelled "online only". Some large chains honour Cyber Monday prices in stores or offer in-store pickup, but that varies by retailer. For in-person shopping, Black Friday weekend is the traditional time.

Cyber Monday isn't only American. Retailers in the UK, Canada and Australia generally use the same date, Monday, November 30, 2026, even though Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October and the UK and Australia don't celebrate it at all.
